$10 a day is Boise Airport’s rock-bottom on-airport rate

Economy Lot is the budget play at BOI: $10 per day for surface parking on airport property. It sits farther from the Main Terminal than the garage and surface lots, but it undercuts them on price and locks in official airport security and lighting. If you’re gone a week, you’re looking at roughly $70 plus tax instead of triple-digit numbers closer in.

The airport runs a 24/7 shuttle from the Economy Lot to the Main Terminal, advertised at about every 15 minutes. Figure a short ride once you’re on board, but build in a buffer on either side so a slow pickup doesn’t eat your check-in time. Shuttles run overnight as well, so late arrivals on the last BOI bank still have coverage back to the car.

On the official rate sheet, this lot is called out as the cheapest published option on the field at BOI, below the close-in terminal parking products. The airport also flags it as an overflow lot when the main facilities fill, so some days you’ll see it busier than others. Regulars use it when the math matters most and a short transfer trade-off is worth the savings.

Because the Economy Lot depends on a shuttle, it’s the most exposed to wait-time friction during peak travel periods like holiday mornings and Sunday evenings, even with the 15-minute target headway. There isn’t a big stack of horror-story threads for BOI, but the risk is inherent to any shuttle-based setup. If you’re tight on time, consider arriving at least 20–30 minutes earlier than you would for walking-distance parking.

Tip: For trips of 3 days or longer, price out the total against closer options; once you see the weekly savings, locking in that extra 20 minutes for shuttle cycles usually feels worth it.
