FlixBus doesn’t touch BLR yet, so don’t plan around it

As of 2024, FlixBus runs no routes to Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), and nothing to Bengaluru city at all. The company’s India plans sit in slow expansion mode, with current focus in other regions, so you won’t see the familiar green buses outside T1 or T2. Treat it as a non-option for airport transfers, even if you use FlixBus a lot in Europe or the US.

There is no FlixBus stop, ticket counter, or kiosk anywhere in BLR, either landside or airside. That means no direct services from T1 or T2 to Majestic, KIA Road, or any other Bengaluru hub. If an app or old blog post claims a BLR stop, assume the data is wrong or outdated and cross-check with the official FlixBus app for India, which currently shows zero BLR services.

India-based transit fans on Reddit point people toward RedBus instead, which lists hundreds of private intercity operators running to and from Bengaluru every day. For airport-specific options, the real workhorses are the BMTC Vayu Vajra airport buses from spots like Kempegowda Bus Station and Banashankari, plus cabs and app taxis from stands outside both terminals. None of these are run by FlixBus, even if some operators use similar green branding.

If you usually rely on FlixBus to stitch together long trips, treat BLR as a blank spot in that network for now. Plan on switching modes: metro and city bus into town, then private buses booked via RedBus or directly from operators for onward routes to cities like Mysuru, Chennai, or Hyderabad. Expect to spend at least 60–90 minutes from T2 arrival to boarding a non-airport intercity bus in the city.

Practical tip: before you land at BLR, open the FlixBus app and search “Bangalore” and “Kempegowda International Airport”; if it still shows zero hits, lock in a backup like BMTC Vayu Vajra plus a RedBus booking instead of waiting around outside T1 or T2 for a green bus that isn’t coming.
