Gate-side books and snacks in T2

Right in Bengaluru’s Terminal T2, WHSmith fills the gap when you need reading material, basic meds, or a last-minute gift before boarding. It sits airside, so you hit it after security and immigration, on the main departures level near several international gates. Think of it as your final grab-stop before you commit to the boarding area.

WHSmith in T2 runs long hours to match early-morning and late-night departures, typically opening before the 05:00 wave and staying open through the 23:00 bank. You’ll find English paperbacks, kids’ activity books, and a few local titles stacked alongside Indian and international magazines. Prices track standard airport markups, with paperbacks and travel guides notably higher than city bookstores.

Snacks lean heavily Indian: packaged namkeen, biscuits, chocolates, and a decent run of bottled drinks in the ₹60–₹200 range. There’s also the usual travel shelf of power banks, cables, neck pillows, and basic stationery that saves you a walk back toward the terminal entrance. If you forgot a pen for immigration forms, this is the fastest fix in T2 departures.

Health and personal-care items are limited but crucial when needed: painkillers, basic cold remedies, and travel-size toiletries usually sit near the counter. Don’t count on finding full pharmacy depth, but for a sudden headache two hours before a BLR–LHR or BLR–SIN flight, it often does the job. One tip: grab water and snacks here before heading to quieter gates with fewer shops.
