Only bar past security at BIS
Gate-side in T1’s main concourse, The Junction is the only sit-down spot for food and drinks once you clear security at Bismarck Municipal Airport. If you want a beer while you watch the single BIS departure bank, this is where you park yourself.
The Junction sits just past the main TSA checkpoint, a short walk from all BIS gates, so you never feel more than a 2-minute stroll from boarding. It runs through the core flight times; early-morning departures may find it closed, but mid-day and evening flights usually line up with open hours. Think standard airport pricing: expect to pay a few dollars more for a sandwich or pint than you would in town.
Food is basic bar-and-grill fare: burgers, wraps, and fries plus typical appetizers. Portions lean generous enough that one main can easily carry you through a 2–3 hour connection or delay. If you care more about speed than nuance, stick with simple orders like a burger and fries or chicken strips that the kitchen can turn quickly. This is not the place to gamble on something complicated 25 minutes before boarding.
On the drinks side, you’ll find domestic beers, a few standard spirits, and simple cocktails, nothing mixology-forward. It’s the only place in the terminal where you can sit with a draft beer and charge your phone at the same time. If your flight is on the smaller regional jets that board from the far end of the concourse, give yourself 5 minutes to close your tab and walk over.
Tip: If you want a real meal, eat in town or pre-security, then use The Junction for a drink and a snack while you watch your gate; it beats camping out in the main seating area with vending machine chips.
