The Fashion Place

Gate-side fashion top-up in BHX Terminal 1

The Fashion Place sits airside in Terminal 1 at Birmingham Airport, just past security and before most of the food outlets. It’s a small high-street style clothing and accessories shop, aimed at last-minute wardrobe fixes rather than full-on shopping sprees. You’re looking at airport pricing, so assume roughly £20–£40 for basics like tops, scarves, or belts.

Stock leans toward travel-friendly pieces: lightweight layers, simple dresses, leggings, and a good amount of accessories. You’ll usually find sunglasses, costume jewellery, handbags, and seasonal items like gloves or sun hats depending on the month. It’s mixed-gender but with more womenswear than menswear on the racks. Expect high-street quality, not designer labels.

Opening hours generally track main flight banks in Terminal 1, roughly from the early-morning departures wave (around 04:00–05:00) through to late-evening flights. Staff start tidying rails hard in the last hour before closing, so if you actually want to try things on, don’t leave it to the final 15 minutes. Fitting-room space is limited, and queues appear fast during the 06:00–09:00 push.

Use The Fashion Place if you’ve spilled something in the departure lounge, mis-packed for the weather at your destination, or need a quick bag or belt swap before a business trip. Skip a special detour from a distant gate unless you know you need clothing; it’s more backup plan than destination shopping. Tip: check the front rail or promo stand near the entrance first—any real bargains usually land there, and sizes go quickly.
