North Car Park

Long stay

Five-minute walk to Terminal 1 security from North Car Park

North Car Park at Birmingham Airport sits opposite Terminal 1, with a walking time of around 3–5 minutes to the check-in desks. It is a long-stay option, so it suits trips from a couple of days up to two weeks or more. You park your own car, keep your keys, and head straight to the terminal on foot, with no shuttle bus or extra waiting time to factor in.

The car park operates 24/7, matching the first and last departures out of BHX Terminal 1. Entry uses ANPR cameras on your number plate, so pre-booking online usually gives you a lower daily rate than paying the drive-up price at the barrier. Spaces are uncovered and set on multiple levels, so allow a few extra minutes if you end up on the upper decks and want the lifts.

Marked pedestrian routes link each parking row to the terminal-side footpath, with lighting covering the main walking routes after dark. There are several pay machines near the exit barriers if you do pay on return, and card payments take less time than cash. Height restriction bars are in place at the entrance, so double-check your vehicle height if you drive a large van or roof-box setup.

Blue Badge bays sit close to the pedestrian exits leading toward Terminal 1, and lifts connect the different levels, which helps if you are handling multiple suitcases. Trolleys are usually available near the main stair and lift cores; bring a £1 coin or compatible token just in case. The car park is signposted “North” from the A45 airport access road, so watch for the blue P signs as you approach.

Practical tip: Take a quick phone photo of your level, row number, and nearest stair core when you park at North Car Park; it saves you a few minutes of wandering after a late arrival back into BHX.
