£24 prebook price sets the tone for Jet2’s own lounge
The Jet2 VIP Area sits airside in Terminal 1 at Birmingham Airport, only open to Jet2 package and flight customers with lounge access on their booking or paid add-on (around £24–£28 per person when prebooked). It’s separate from The Aspire Lounge and other shared spaces, so you’re mostly in the company of fellow Jet2 passengers on similar departure times.
Doors usually open around 03:30–04:00 to match Jet2’s early wave, closing in the evening once the last departures from BHX T1 push back, so early-morning holiday flights at 06:00–07:00 are fully covered. Entry is time-limited to roughly three hours before departure, and staff do check boarding passes against Jet2 bookings rather than accepting generic lounge cards.
Food runs buffet-style, with hot breakfast items like bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and beans on the line during the morning departure bank, then switching over around 11:00 to pastries, sandwiches, snacks and simple hot options. Everything is included in the entry price, and portions are self-serve, so you can build a plate before that 3.5‑hour flight to the Canaries and skip the buy-on-board menu if you want.
Drinks include draught beer, bottled cider, house wine and basic spirits from a staffed bar, plus self-serve tea, coffee and soft drinks; alcohol is typically poured from opening until close, with the usual UK airport caveat that staff may refuse service if you look too far gone before your 09:00 departure. If you want premium brands or cocktails, plan on the terminal bars instead, as this space leans towards house labels only.
Seating mixes two‑ and four‑top tables with low chairs and a few higher stools, and power outlets appear in clusters rather than at every seat, so grabbing a spot near a wall socket matters if your phone is already at 20% before a 4‑hour sector. Wi‑Fi runs through the airport’s main BHX network, so you’re not getting a separate Jet2 signal, but it’s generally fine for scrolling and email while you watch your gate on the screens.
Practical tip: if your Jet2 booking includes this lounge, arrive at BHX about 2.5–3 hours before departure, clear security in Terminal 1, then head straight here first so you get maximum value before walking to the gate 35–40 minutes before boarding.
