Signature Flight Support Lounge

General aviation only sums up Signature Flight Support at BHM.

This lounge sits on the FBO side of Birmingham-Shuttlesworth (BHM), separate from the Main Terminal used by airlines like Delta and Southwest. It serves private, corporate, and charter traffic, not regular ticketed passengers. If your boarding pass has a commercial carrier and a concourse gate number, you’re in the wrong part of the airport for this facility.

Signature operates its BHM location as a standard FBO with its own ramp, security checks, and passenger flow. Access runs through the fixed-base operation, tied to your aircraft operator and tail number, not Priority Pass or day-pass schemes. In practice, that means you reach it via the GA entrance and parking area off the airport perimeter roads, not through TSA checkpoints or the Main Terminal baggage claim.

Inside, expect the usual FBO mix of seating, coffee, and basic snacks rather than a full commercial lounge buffet. Signature’s corporate materials for BHM list passenger handling, crew facilities, and ground support services, but not an in-house restaurant or bar. If you want a full meal, you’re relying on catering arranged by your operator or heading back out into Birmingham before or after your flight.

Hours typically track general aviation demand at BHM, with Signature listing published operating times on its own site and offering call-out service in some markets. If your charter departs at 06:00 or arrives after 22:00, confirm opening times directly with the FBO office at BHM. Unlike airline lounges tied to fixed bank schedules, FBO staffing can flex with local traffic and pre-booked movements.

Commercial passengers can’t reasonably “swing by” this lounge between flights, since it sits landside on the GA ramp, behind controlled-access gates and outside TSA’s Main Terminal footprint. There is no airside corridor, shuttle, or public walkway connecting the concourses to Signature’s building. To use this space, you need to be manifested on a general aviation or charter flight that operates through Signature Birmingham.

Practical tip: if you think your charter or corporate flight may use Birmingham, ask the operator to confirm “Signature BHM” as the handling agent so you know to drive directly to the FBO entrance instead of parking at the Main Terminal garage.
