Burger King

T1 ★ 1

Airside in T1, this is BFS’s only real fast-food stop

Past security in T1 at Belfast International, Burger King is the main branded fast-food option before you reach the gates. It sits airside in the departures area, so you hit it after security and before the walk to the common boarding gates used for easyJet and Ryanair morning departures.

The menu sticks to standard Burger King basics: Whopper meals, Chicken Royale, fries, and soft drinks. Expect airport pricing, with meal deals running higher than high-street branches in Belfast city centre. You still get the same flame-grilled burgers and familiar sides, which matters at 05:30 when most other spots in the terminal are only just opening.

Seating is limited and spills into the shared T1 food court area near other concessions. That means it can feel crowded around the early bank of departures between 06:00 and 08:00. If you’re tight on time, mobile in one hand and bag in the other, it works better as a counter stop for a bagged burger and fries than a sit-down meal.

Service pace depends on the queue; in peak school-holiday weeks, people report waiting 10–15 minutes from order to food in T1. Off-peak midday and late evening, you can usually get a burger and drink in under 5 minutes. Staff follow standard Burger King prep, so what you get here matches what you’d expect on High Street, just with a bit more stress in the line.

The rating around 1 star in airport roundups is mainly about crowds and price rather than food quality. Use Burger King here as a functional backup when you’ve cleared security too early or too hungry to wait for food on a short-haul flight. Tip: if your gate number isn’t posted yet, order, grab your food to go, then walk toward the screens near the central T1 departures area while you eat.
