Across from Gate A6, Charter House is the airport diner
Charter House sits airside in Terminal A near Gate A6, so it works for most mainline departures out of Bradley. It runs standard airport hours, usually opening for the first 5:00–5:30 a.m. bank and staying open through the evening departures. It’s a full-service sit-down spot, not a grab-and-go counter, so budget at least 40–60 minutes if you have a tight connection out of A.
The menu leans simple American: eggs, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches, and basic salads, with prices firmly in airport territory. Expect breakfast plates around $12–$16 and burgers or sandwiches in the $15–$20 range before tax and tip. Portions are larger than what you’ll get at most nearby coffee chains in the terminal, so one main usually does the job if you’re about to board a 2–3 hour flight.
Service is sit-down with a bar, which is helpful if you want a beer or mixed drink before a 6:00 p.m. departure. Draft beers typically run $9–$12, cocktails a bit higher. If you only have 25–30 minutes, the bar side is your best bet; food tends to come out faster from there than from the regular tables. There’s no Priority Pass or airline meal credit here, so plan to pay out of pocket.
You’ll find Charter House past the main security checkpoint serving Terminal A, so you can’t use it if you’re still curbside checking bags at the ticket counters. Seating is mostly standard four-tops and two-tops, with a short counter line, and it can fill up around the 6:00–8:00 a.m. and 4:00–6:00 p.m. banks when Southwest, Delta, and American all push flights.
Practical tip: if your gate is in the high A-teens (A18–A21), leave Charter House by boarding group B at the latest; the walk down the concourse adds about 5–7 minutes and queues can build quickly at those smaller hold rooms.
