Auntie Anne's / Carvel

Fresh pretzels and ice cream in Terminal A

Auntie Anne's / Carvel sits airside in Terminal A at Bradley (BDL), just past the main security checkpoint and a short walk from gates A4–A8. It’s a grab-and-go counter, not a sit-down spot, so think quick snack before boarding rather than a full meal.

Pretzels run around $4–$6, with combos (pretzel plus drink) landing closer to $9–$11 depending on size. You’ll see the usual Auntie Anne’s lineup: original salted, cinnamon sugar, pepperoni, and pretzel nuggets. They also pour the brand’s lemonade in regular and frozen versions, which is helpful on those packed summer Hartford–Florida flights.

On the Carvel side, soft-serve cones and cups typically sit around the $5–$7 mark, with toppings extra. Expect vanilla, chocolate, and twist, plus sundaes and the occasional novelty item in the freezer case. Portions skew big for an airport, so one large cup can easily cover two kids waiting at gate A6.

Hours often track the main morning and evening banks, roughly 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., but late-night departures after 9:00 p.m. sometimes find the lights already off. If you’re on an early 6:00 a.m. departure to ORD or CLT, the pretzel case usually has fresh batches out by about 5:30 a.m.

Best bets: cinnamon sugar pretzel or nuggets if you want something that still tastes fine after a 20–30 minute sit in your backpack, and a small twist cone if you eat it at the gate. Salty items can feel heavy on a short hop to BOS or JFK, so maybe split one if you’re in a regional jet seat.

Tip: lines spike around the 4:30–6:30 p.m. wave of departures, so if your flight leaves from A2–A5, swing by right after clearing security instead of waiting for final boarding calls.
