Duty Free Shop at L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) sits airside in departures, just past security before the main gates. It stocks tax-free rum, whisky, gin, vodka, and Bermudian staples like Goslings, plus standard cartons of cigarettes and some perfume and cosmetics. Spirits typically run cheaper than in town, especially on mid-range brands and local rum, so this is where people top up on the way out.

The store opens in line with the first outbound flights in the morning and generally stays open until the last evening departures, roughly covering the full flight schedule. Shelves lean hard toward 750 ml and 1 L bottles, with promo pricing on two-bottle liquor deals rotating through the year. You’ll also see a small stand of Bermuda-themed souvenirs and boxed chocolate near the cashier if you forgot a parting gift.

Payment works like any standard airport shop: major credit cards, tap-to-pay, and Bermuda dollars or US cash at the counter. Carry-on rules still apply, so for US-bound flights, staff usually pack bottles in clear security bags with receipts visible. If you’re connecting onward in the US and will re-clear security, stick to one or two bottles you can comfortably check in your luggage later.

Quick tip: check airline baggage limits on liquids before you buy that extra 1 L bottle; agents at the US connection won’t make an exception for BDA duty free packaging.
