Cañas y Tapas

T2

Near T2 departures, Cañas y Tapas is the Spanish option in this terminal.

Cañas y Tapas sits airside in Terminal T2, so it works for Schengen flights leaving from that side of Barcelona–El Prat. Signage in T2 is clear; follow the generic “restaurants” icons after security and you’ll see the red Cañas y Tapas branding along the main concourse. It’s a standard sit-down setup with table service, not a grab-and-go counter.

Pricing lines up with airport Spain norms: expect individual tapas plates to run in the mid single digits in euros, with larger raciones and mains pushing into low double digits. Drinks, especially beer and basic wine by the glass, add up fast, so a quick bite and a caña can easily land around €15–€20 per person. Figure on at least 35–45 minutes if you want to sit, order, and pay without stressing about boarding times.

Menu structure sticks to Spanish bar basics: think patatas bravas, croquetas, tortilla, simple salads, plus meat and fish plates in the €10–€18 bracket. If you only have 20 minutes before a T2 gate call, small cold dishes like tortilla or pan con tomate usually land quicker than grilled items. Portions skew larger than “one bite” tapas, so two plates per person is often enough for a light meal before a short-haul hop.

T2 doesn’t have the same restaurant density as T1, so Cañas y Tapas ends up being one of the few full-service spots past security for that terminal. If you care more about making boarding group 1 than finishing dessert, sit close to the edge of the dining area so you can see gate screens and keep an eye on any last-minute gate changes in T2.

Practical tip: pad your schedule by 20 minutes and ask for the bill (“la cuenta”) when the last dish hits the table; card readers at T2 can be slow during the morning and late-afternoon peaks.
