The Pearl Lounge on Departures

T1 · near 15A-15B Day pass true

The default non–Gulf Air lounge for T1 departures

Most foreign airlines at Bahrain use The Pearl Lounge on Departures as their contract lounge, so if you’re flying Etihad or another non–Gulf Air carrier out of T1, this is usually where you end up. It sits airside near gates 15A–15B in the new international terminal, so check your actual departure gate before committing to the walk.

Access runs through Priority Pass, airline invitations, and paid day passes, but reports say rules shift when it’s busy. Several reviewers mention being turned away despite holding Priority Pass, especially in peak evening banks around Gulf-bound departures, so have a backup plan if the front desk says no.

Walk-up day passes are sold at the door, making Pearl a paid fallback if airline status or Priority Pass access gets refused. Pricing can change, but expect a standard contract-lounge rate in the region of other T1 paid options and factor that into your decision versus buying food by gate 15 or in the main concourse.

Location near gates 15A–15B means a solid 5–10 minute walk back to outlying gates at the other end of T1, especially some low-number stands, so set an alarm for boarding minus 30 minutes. Regulars build in a buffer because the walk plus a last-minute security check at the gate can eat more time than you think.

FlyerTalk posters flying Etihad describe Pearl as the standard option and only try for Gulf Air’s Falcon Gold lounge if their ticket historically went there on a Gulf Air codeshare. Recent reports say that workaround is hit-or-miss now, so plan on Pearl first and treat any Falcon Gold access as a bonus rather than a right.

Watch out for the front-desk attitude: LoungeReview aggregates multiple comments about staff being “rude” when refusing Priority Pass holders at busy times. If you’re traveling in a group of two or three around 18:00–23:00, expect capacity controls and have a quick script ready: show your card, ask once, then move on rather than arguing.

One practical tip: check your gate on the screens right outside Pearl before you leave; if you’re not on 15A–15B or nearby, head out a full 20 minutes before boarding to avoid a stressed power walk across T1.
