Gate-side simit and tea before T1 departures

Simit Sarayi sits past security in Antalya’s T1, right in the main airside food court area, and leans heavily on its namesake sesame simit rings. You’ll see big trays of fresh simit behind the counter plus pastries like açma and poğaça, all priced in the budget range for AYT — think roughly café-chain prices rather than full-restaurant bills.

Open from early morning through late-night bank departures, Simit Sarayi works well for that 05:00 check-in or the 23:30 charter flight out of Antalya. A basic simit with cream cheese and a Turkish tea usually lands under the cost of a fast-food combo elsewhere in T1, and you can grab it in under 10 minutes when the queue is short.

Food is straightforward: sesame simit, cheese and olive sandwiches, sucuk or salami-filled options, plus standard pastries you’ll recognise from city branches of Simit Sarayi across Turkey. There’s also a case of sweets like baklava and cookies, and fridges with bottled water, ayran, juices, and canned soft drinks. Coffee runs the usual lineup of Turkish coffee, espresso, latte, and cappuccino, at typical airport mark-up.

Seating around Simit Sarayi in T1’s airside hall is mostly shared tables and stools facing the concourse, so expect to hover a bit if you arrive right before a full 180-seat package flight boards from nearby gates. Turnover is quick, though, because most passengers just sit long enough to finish one tea glass or coffee cup.

No standout regulars’ hack or secret menu surfaced, but the safest move is a plain simit plus tea or Turkish coffee if you’re catching a Pegasus or SunExpress flight from T1 and want something light. One practical tip: if lines spike past 8–10 people, skip custom sandwiches and grab pre-made simit or börek from the display to keep your stop under 5–7 minutes.
