AVL’s only real sit-down bar sits by gate C1
Aletitude in Terminal 1 by gate C1 is Asheville Regional’s lone true bar-and-grill past security, so it ends up functioning like the airport lounge for anyone who wants a proper drink and a chair, not just drip coffee at the gate. Everything here is inside security, so you’re fine cutting it a bit closer to boarding if your flight departs from C1 or nearby regional jet stands.
Hours track the flight schedule: concessions, including Aletitude, open at least one hour before the first departing flight starts boarding and stay running through the last departure’s boarding time. That means the bar is a legit option for a 6:00 a.m. departure as well as the 9:00 p.m. straggler to Atlanta or Charlotte. If the departures board still shows flights, you can usually still get a drink and something hot.
Menu details shift, but think standard airport bar playbook: burgers, sandwiches, maybe a salad, plus draft and canned beer, wine by the glass, and simple mixed drinks. Prices run higher than downtown Asheville, but in line with most small-airport bars; plan on paying airport money for that IPA or bourbon pour. With a 5-star airport rating overall for AVL’s terminal setup, this is about as comfortable as the concourse gets.
There aren’t many online reviews pinned specifically to Aletitude, which usually means solid but not spectacular food and drinks, and nothing so bad that people rush to complain. Service at small regional bars like this depends heavily on the single bartender on duty, so a full 76-seat regional jet dumping out at once can slow things down. If your flight boards in under 30 minutes, stick to beer or wine instead of a complicated cocktail.
Tip: seats go fast before the morning banks around 6:00–8:00 a.m., so grab a bar stool at Aletitude first, then open your laptop or order food once you’re parked.
