Parking Garage

Short-term parking

Covered parking, 2-minute walk to AVL’s sole terminal

The Parking Garage at Asheville Regional Airport sits directly across from Terminal 1, with about a 2-minute walk to check-in and security. It’s short-term style parking, but priced mid-tier at $17 per day—less than the Hourly/Short-Term lot at roughly $30 per day, but more than the outdoor Daily and shuttle lots at $12.

This is the only covered option on the airport campus, so it’s the go-to when Asheville throws rain, summer storms, or winter slush into your departure. All AVL lots, including the garage, are open 24/7 and run by LAZ Parking, not the airport, which matters if you’re leaving a car more than 30 days or flying back on a late-night arrival.

Handicapped spaces are available inside the garage itself and charged at the same $17 daily rate—there’s no disabled discount versus other users. Payment is credit or debit card only at the exit gates; cash is not accepted in any on-airport AVL lot, so budget travelers coming off US-25 or I-26 should plan plastic, not bills.

Regulars say they often park in the $12 Daily/Long-Term lot and walk the few extra minutes, then “upgrade” to the garage when it’s pouring, icy, or they’re rolling out for a 6 a.m. departure. For multi-week trips over 30 days, frequent users call LAZ at 828-209-2125 ahead of time so the car doesn’t get tagged as abandoned and towed.

Watch out: there’s no on-airport reservation system, so all spaces in the garage are first-come, first-served and can tighten up in peak leaf season or holiday weekends. One practical tip: if you’re flying on a busy Friday or Sunday, budget an extra 10–15 minutes to divert to the $12 lots in case the garage is full.
