Across from Gate 22 sits American’s small Admirals Club at AUS

This Admirals Club sits inside the Barbara Jordan Terminal directly across from Gate 22, so it works well if you’re on American or any Oneworld partner using nearby gates. It’s a single-level, compact lounge, more “quiet room with snacks” than destination bar. If your connection at Austin runs 60–90 minutes, this is enough time to duck in, reset, and still walk to most gates in under 10 minutes.

Access follows standard American Airlines Admirals Club rules inside the Barbara Jordan Terminal: members, qualifying business or first passengers on American, and day-pass holders when AA sells them. Because it’s the only Admirals Club at AUS and shares the concourse with Southwest and others, the lounge does get a bit of spillover during peak banks around the 06:00–08:00 and late-afternoon waves, but people turn over quickly due to the small footprint.

Food is basic snack-bar level: think chips, veggies, hummus, cookies, and usually one or two simple cold options in the bar area near the entrance by Gate 22. Don’t plan on a full meal here; if you’re hungry, grab a proper plate in the Barbara Jordan food court near gates 16–21, then head in for coffee, soda, and a seat. For drinks, house beer, wine, and well spirits are included, with premium options costing a few extra dollars per pour.

Showers are the big surprise in a lounge this small, with a couple of shower suites tucked toward the back of the club away from the gate 22 windows. Ask at the front desk as soon as you enter; during busy mid-morning periods after inbound transcon flights, there can be a short wait list. Towels and basic amenities are provided, but it’s safer to bring your own preferred toiletries if you’re picky.

Seating runs mostly as armchairs and small tables, with power outlets between many seats and along the walls near the gate 22 side windows. Wi‑Fi uses the standard Admirals Club network and usually clocks in fast enough for video calls and uploads. If the main room feels noisy, walk all the way to the far corner opposite the bar; that section often stays quieter, especially outside the 17:00–19:00 departure push.

Practical tip: if you’re departing from gates 1–12 at the far end of Barbara Jordan, leave the lounge 20 minutes before boarding time; it’s an honest 8–10 minute walk from Gate 22 with crowds.
