Right by the A-gates, Lego is the kid magnet.
This standalone Lego store in Terminal A sits past security, handy if you’ve got 20–30 minutes before boarding and a restless kid in tow. It’s full retail, not a tiny corner shelf, so you actually see proper boxed sets rather than just travel-sized toys.
On shelves you’ll spot classic Lego City, Technic car kits, and smaller boxes in the AED 60–120 range that still fit into a backpack. Higher-ticket sets run well into the hundreds of dirhams, closer to downtown pricing than duty-free “deal,” so treat it like a regular mall store, not a bargain hunt.
The shop leans on current themes and licensed lines, so expect a wall of Star Wars and Marvel sets alongside the usual bricks. If you need something that can be built at the gate, grab the small polybags or mini vehicle kits instead of the big 1,000-piece monsters that will dominate your carry-on.
Stock moves in waves, so you won’t necessarily find every new global release on the same day it hits Europe, but turnover at a hub like AUH is quick enough that shelves don’t look dated. Staff are used to tight connections and can ring you up in a couple of minutes if you say your gate and boarding time.
Tip: check your airline’s cabin baggage limits before buying a large box here in Terminal A; some wide-body flights out of AUH enforce the one-bag rule pretty hard at the gate.
