Le Clos

A

Near A-gates at AUH, Le Clos is the airport’s upmarket wine and spirits shop.

This branch sits airside in Terminal A, handy if you’re flying Etihad and want a last-minute bottle before boarding. Shelves lean hard into premium labels: you’ll see big-name Champagne, serious Bordeaux, and age-statement single malts sitting in locked glass cabinets. Prices skew higher than downtown Abu Dhabi, but below many hotel bars in the city.

Le Clos in Terminal A opens for most of the long-haul bank, roughly aligning with Etihad departures through the late night and early morning peaks. Expect plenty of collectible whisky, with some bottles in the AED 2,000+ range, plus more everyday wines closer to AED 120–200. Staff usually hover near the higher-end cases and are quick with tasting notes if you ask.

Wines are grouped by region, so France, Italy, and New World each get their own section along one wall. Spirits take the opposite side: gin, tequila, rum, and a strong Scotch lineup, including a few travel-retail-only editions you won’t easily find outside airports. You’ll also spot smaller 375ml bottles that work better if you’re connecting again on a tight baggage allowance.

If you care about specific vintages or rare bottlings, budget 10–15 minutes to look properly; the good stuff isn’t always at eye level, and some of it sits behind the counter. Last tip: keep your boarding pass handy, as staff need the flight details to process duty free at Terminal A.
