Bag Wrap

Travel Essentials

A

Near the A-gates, Bag Wrap is the place that shrink-wraps luggage before flights.

You’ll find Bag Wrap in Terminal A, airside, so you can wrap bags after check-in and security but before you head to your gate. Staff handle standard suitcases, backpacks, and odd shapes like stroller frames. Turnaround is usually just a few minutes per item, even in early-evening bank times for Etihad departures.

Pricing sits in the usual airport range for this service; expect to pay roughly what you’d see at major hubs in Europe or Asia for one medium suitcase. They use thick plastic film around the entire bag, including handles and zips, which helps against scuffs and casual tampering on long-haul connections through AUH.

Bag Wrap also stocks basic travel essentials alongside the wrapping machine in Terminal A: tape, locks, and some small accessories that cover last-minute needs. If you have a soft-sided duffel or a box you’re checking on an Etihad flight out of A, wrapping can add a bit of structure so belts don’t chew it up between AUH and your final stop.

There aren’t many long lines reported here, but right before late-night waves (think after 22:00) you may see a short queue. Build in a 10–15 minute buffer before boarding starts, especially for widebodies at the far A-gates. One tip: wrap bags after any duty free or last-minute repacking, so you’re not paying twice in Terminal A.
