Gate-adjacent tables near Pier D in Terminal A

Pier D sits airside in Terminal A at Zayed International Airport, a full-service restaurant you can hit between long-haul departures. It’s part of the main international concourse, so factor in a 5–10 minute walk from most A-gates. This is not a 20-minute in-and-out stop; plan at least 60 minutes if you want a relaxed, seated meal before boarding.

The menu runs international: you’ll see pasta, grilled meats, salads, and a few Middle Eastern touches on the same card. Mains generally land in the AED 80–120 range, with appetizers closer to AED 40–60. Portions skew airline-lounge style rather than giant steakhouse plates, so order a starter if you’re genuinely hungry. Drinks include mocktails and the usual soft drinks; expect airport markups on anything bottled.

Service runs on typical Terminal A rhythm: staff juggle multiple tables and the bar, so build in a 15–20 minute buffer from ordering to mains. The room overlooks the pier area near Pier D, so you can keep an eye on boarding screens without sprinting. Power outlets are limited, so charge your phone at the gate or in the main Terminal A seating zones before you sit down.

Pier D works best if you’ve cleared security and immigration in AUH at least 90 minutes before departure and don’t have lounge access. It fills up most days in the 20:00–01:00 long-haul bank, when Etihad and partners push out Europe and Asia flights, so expect slower turnover around those times. If you just need something quick under AED 60, a grab-and-go spot in Terminal A might suit you better.

Tip: check your gate on the Terminal A FIDS screens before you sit; some A-gates are a 10–12 minute walk from Pier D, and long boarding queues for widebodies can start 40 minutes before departure.
