Under 20 AED gets you a basic meal at this Terminal A McDonald's
This McDonald's sits airside in Terminal A at Zayed International Airport, so you need a boarding pass to reach it. It runs on the usual McDonald’s playbook: counter service, digital menu boards, and trays you bus yourself. Expect the standard global hits like Big Mac, McChicken, and fries, with pricing in the 15–35 AED range depending on combo size.
Hours at most AUH Terminal A fast food spots stretch from early morning into the late-night departure banks, and McDonald’s typically tracks that pattern. That means you can usually grab an Egg McMuffin-style breakfast before a 06:00 flight or a burger on the way to a 01:30 departure. Seating is shared with nearby Terminal A food court options, so you might need to hover for a few minutes during peak banks around major long-haul waves.
Ordering is straightforward: look for self-service kiosks near the entrance, then pick up at the counter when your number appears on the screen. Combos with fries and a drink often sit around the 25–30 AED mark, while a single sandwich can be closer to 15–18 AED. Drinks use standard McDonald’s cup sizes, and refills are usually not self-serve in UAE locations, so expect to pay per drink.
Because this is Terminal A, you’ll mainly see passengers on Etihad and partner airlines, and lines build fast before bank departures around the 09:00–11:00 and 22:00–01:00 windows. Food comes out quickly by airport standards, but a 10–20 minute wait is normal once the queue reaches 10–15 people. If your boarding pass shows a bus gate at the far end of Terminal A, add another 10 minutes of walking time to avoid cutting it close.
Tip: if your flight leaves from a high A-gate number, order to go and walk toward your gate before opening the box; seating tends to be easier closer to the gate clusters than in the main food court area.
