Terminal A flyers find Le Pain Quotidien on the airside concourse, a familiar European bakery-café name planted right in the new AUH flagship terminal. It sits after security, so this is a safe bet for anyone already holding a boarding pass for an A-gate departure. Expect the usual LPQ formula: counter orders, table service for eat-in, and a pastry case you can scan in under 30 seconds before dashing to your gate.
This spot runs typical airport hours in Terminal A, opening early enough for first-wave departures and trading mostly in breakfast, light lunches, and mid-day snacks. Pricing tracks with international-airport norms: coffee and tea in the mid-range for AUH, pastries and breads a notch above downtown Abu Dhabi cafés, and plated dishes higher again. Figure on a quick coffee-and-croissant for less than a full-service sit-down meal elsewhere in the terminal.
Menu structure follows the global Le Pain Quotidien pattern you see in Dubai or Brussels: tartines on sliced organic bread, quiches, salads, soups, and the standard bakery lineup of croissants, pain au chocolat, and loaves by the piece. Portions skew European rather than US-sized, which works for a short layover in Terminal A when you do not want to board overstuffed. Expect plenty of bread and dairy; vegans can usually piece together a salad-plus-bread solution, but it is not a specialist venue.
Coffee here runs from straight espresso shots to larger milk drinks, handled on a proper espresso machine rather than push-button pods. If you are boarding a long-haul from one of the A-gates, this is a reasonable last stop for a double espresso and a pastry before a 7–14 hour flight. Takeaway cups and paper bags make it easy to carry things down the pier toward your specific gate.
Tip: plan about 15–20 minutes in Terminal A if you want a made-to-order tartine or salad from Le Pain Quotidien; for just drip coffee and something from the pastry case, you can usually be in and out in under 10 minutes.
