The House Lounge

A

The old “The House” branding at AUH Terminal A is effectively gone

If you see “The House Lounge” listed for Terminal A at Zayed International Airport, treat it as legacy labeling tied to Etihad partner access rather than an active, separately run lounge. Current airport materials for Terminal A show named spaces like Pearl Lounge and Plaza Premium–style facilities for non-Etihad carriers, but nothing operating under “The House” name. Assume any “House” reference in an app or old email is pointing you toward these newer shared lounges.

Terminal A is the main long-haul hub at AUH, and Etihad plus partner airlines use this terminal for the bulk of their departures. Etihad’s own premium lounges in Terminal A handle most business and first-class traffic, while non-Etihad and contract passengers are typically routed to Pearl Lounge or similar third-party spaces. If a partner airline boarding pass or status benefit still prints “The House Lounge,” head to the lounge desk in Terminal A’s central hall and ask which current lounge your flight actually uses.

Airport documentation lists two broad lounge categories in Terminal A: Etihad-operated lounges and independent/contract lounges like Pearl Lounge, which may serve multiple airlines on a per-passenger contract. No current public map from Zayed International Airport in 2024 shows a lounge with “The House” branding at any A-gate cluster. If a ground agent in Terminal A mentions “former The House,” they are usually referring to a space that has either been rebranded or absorbed into a different lounge product.

Because details shift as Etihad and partner contracts change, check the airport’s official lounge page for Terminal A on your travel date and confirm by airline and cabin, not by lounge name. For example, a Turkish Airlines business-class passenger in 2024 is generally sent to a contract lounge in Terminal A rather than anything called The House. If you hold Priority Pass or a similar card, cross-check which Terminal A lounges accept your card instead of hunting for the old The House name.

Practical tip: At check-in in Terminal A, ask, “Which lounge are you using today for [airline] business class?” and get the current lounge name and level (e.g., near A10–A20) written or shown on your boarding pass so you don’t waste 10–15 minutes walking around looking for a non-existent The House sign.
