USO Lounge

Domestic Terminal Atrium (landside) · Suite 320, 3rd floor Open · Mon-Fri 08:00-21:00; Sat 09:00-17:00; Sun 10:00-18:00

Free access, but only for active U.S. military and families

This USO Lounge sits landside in the Domestic Terminal Atrium, Suite 320 on the 3rd floor above the arrivals lobby, and runs more like a staffed club house than a commercial pay‑in lounge. Entry is limited to active‑duty U.S. military members and their families; SleepingInAirports specifically notes there’s no walk‑in or paid access for non‑military travelers, even though it shows up on airport maps and signage.

The center sits before security in the Domestic Terminal, so anyone connecting off Concourse C or another concourse has to exit the secure area, walk back to the Atrium, ride up to the 3rd floor, then clear security again later. Hours run Monday to Friday 08:00–21:00, Saturday 09:00–17:00, and Sunday 10:00–18:00, so late‑night arrivals after 21:00 on weekdays or 18:00 on Sundays need a backup plan in the main terminal.

Inside, think seating, snacks, and staff help rather than spa gear: the SleepingInAirports ATL guide flags no showers, no dedicated rest zone, and no formal sleep facilities. That makes it fine for a couple of daytime hours between flights, but less useful if you land on a red‑eye or face an overnight layover and were hoping for a real bed or hot water after a long haul.

Regulars passing through ATL use the Jean R. Amos USO center as a secure space to sit, grab some free food and drinks, and talk to staff about airport logistics, then head back to the concourses for anything more heavy‑duty like showers. Because it’s landside in the Domestic Terminal rather than the International Terminal, it lines up best with domestic itineraries through ATL, especially if you have at least 2 hours to clear security twice without stress.

Watch out for the security time hit: leaving Concourse C, taking the Plane Train back to Domestic, locating the Atrium elevators, visiting the USO on the 3rd floor, and then reclearing security can easily chew through 60–75 minutes in busy periods. One practical tip: if your connection is under 90 minutes gate‑to‑gate, skip the lounge and stay airside; save the USO for longer gaps when you’re not clock‑watching at the checkpoint.
