Duty-free liquor right by Terminal 1 security at ANU

Premier Cru sits directly at the Terminal 1 security checkpoint at V. C. Bird International Airport, so you see it almost as soon as you clear screening. This is a straight liquor shop, not a general duty-free, and it focuses on bottles to carry onto regional and long-haul flights. If you forgot to pick something up in town, this is your last pre-boarding option inside the airport.

The shelves lean toward rum and Caribbean spirits, which fits Antigua, with plenty of mid-range bottles plus some gift-boxed options. Prices run cheaper than many resort shops, and in line with typical duty-free for a small Caribbean airport. You’ll also find standard international labels in whisky, vodka, and gin, though not every brand or size is stocked at all times.

Because Premier Cru is right at security in Terminal 1, you can shop immediately after clearing and then head straight to your gate without backtracking. The location also helps with carry-on rules, since bottles bought here go through the checkpoint with you instead of being pulled from checked luggage later. Figure five to ten minutes to browse unless a tour group hits at the same time.

There isn’t much staff upsell; you mostly scan the shelves and go, paying at a single counter near the entrance. Expect basic plastic bags rather than fancy packaging, so if you’re connecting again after leaving Antigua, plan to keep receipts handy for additional security checks. Tip: check your airline’s carry-on liquid rules before buying larger bottles, especially if you still have another security screening on a connecting leg.
