Local Crafts Stall

Gate-side in Terminal 1, Local Crafts Stall is your last-minute Antiguan souvenir stop.

This small stand sits airside in Terminal 1 after security, near the main cluster of international departure gates. It’s one of the few spots in the terminal selling locally made items instead of standard duty-free brands.

You’ll see hand-painted trinkets, simple beaded bracelets, straw pieces, and island-themed fridge magnets, with many items under US$15. Larger pieces like carved wood figures or small artworks can run closer to US$30–40, so check price tags before you load up.

Most items clearly reference Antigua — flags, “ANU” tags, or Caribbean map designs — which makes this stand more specific than the generic souvenir shelves inside the main duty-free shop. Stock isn’t huge, though, so if you spot a design you like, don’t assume there’s a duplicate in the back.

Card payments are usually accepted, but several recent travelers at ANU mention smaller stalls sometimes having card machine issues, so carry at least US$20 or EC$50 in cash if you’re serious about buying here.

There’s rarely a queue longer than 3–4 people, but staff also juggle restocking and chatting about items, so you can easily burn 10–15 minutes if you start browsing right before boarding. Hit this stall right after clearing security, then sit near your gate to wait for boarding calls.
