Security-side Dufry in T1 is your last duty-free stop
This Dufry sits right by the security checkpoint in Terminal 1, so you hit it immediately after screening before heading to the international gates. It’s a standard walk-through duty free layout: bottles on the left, cosmetics and perfume in the middle, snacks and souvenirs toward the exit. Post-security only, so you can’t backtrack here from the public check-in area.
Liquor brands run from basic rum up to higher-end Caribbean labels, with 1L duty-free bottles usually priced under what you’ll see in St. John’s supermarkets. You’ll also find cigarettes, some travel-sized cosmetics, and a small stand of sunscreen and after-sun products. Prices are airport-marked but not outrageous for an island gateway; think mid-teens USD for small fragrance sets and under USD 10 for most souvenir-sized rums.
Stock is geared to outbound passengers on North American and European carriers using T1, so you’ll see standard global brands rather than niche finds. Snacks lean heavily on local candy and logo tins, plus the usual chocolate bars. If you need a quick gift before an American Airlines or British Airways departure, this is where you’ll actually find Antigua-branded items in one sweep.
Lines form mainly during morning and early afternoon bank departures, especially when two or three widebodies leave within the same 90-minute window. Staff usually move people through quickly, but allow at least 10 extra minutes before a 09:00–14:00 flight if you plan to pick up rum or perfume here.
Tip: If you care about specific brands, check the small duty-free shelves in town first, then use this Dufry as a top-up on your way through T1 security.
