Alaska Mercantile

Near the South Terminal gates, Alaska Mercantile leans hard into souvenirs

This shop in ANC’s South Terminal focuses on Alaska-themed gifts: think t‑shirts, hoodies, mugs, keychains, and stuffed moose lined up right by the gate corridors. You’ll see it on the concourse walk between multiple South Terminal gates, so it’s an easy pass-through stop on the way to boarding.

Merch runs from a few-dollar magnet up to $40–$60 hoodies, so it covers quick token gifts and one-and-done trip sweatshirts. Expect the usual airport markup versus downtown Anchorage, but you’re paying for not leaving the terminal. Most items scream “Alaska” in big fonts or with moose, bear, or northern lights prints.

Hours generally track flight banks in the South Terminal, opening early for morning departures and staying open into the late-evening pushes; if you’re on a 5:30 a.m. flight, don’t count on full racks being staffed, but daytime windows are safe. It sits post‑security, so you can browse without building extra TSA time into your schedule.

Food is minimal: maybe some packaged candy or Alaska-branded chocolate, but this is primarily gifts and apparel, not a snack stop. If you want salmon or serious local foods, your odds are better at dedicated Alaska products shops elsewhere in ANC than here.

Tip: Prices don’t improve closer to the gate, so if you see an Alaska Mercantile sweatshirt you like on your way in, grab it rather than hunting for a cheaper duplicate later in the South Terminal.
