The Independent VIP Lounge sits in the South Terminal between the B and C concourses, but regulars know it functions more like the Sleeping Lady public lounge than a traditional access-controlled club. You walk in straight from the concourse, no membership card, no airline invite, and no day-pass desk in sight. Think quiet seating, movie screen, and runway views, not premium bar and buffet.

This space anchors the short connector linking B and C, so it works well if your flight uses gates in either concourse and you have at least 60–90 minutes. Since it’s on the South side and access comes via the North Terminal contract setup, check your boarding pass: international carriers sometimes bus or route you via North, which adds a 10–15 minute walk back if you want to use this lounge between segments.

Core draw: a huge screen often used for movies plus sightlines out to the ramps that plane‑spotters like for seeing 747 freighters and Alaska Airlines traffic. Seats are standard airport-style chairs and benches, not lie‑flat pods, and you won’t find showers, nap rooms, or a staffed bar. Treat it as a quiet zone with entertainment rather than a full VIP service product.

Food and drink are minimal here, so plan to grab a hot meal or decent coffee in the South Terminal food court near B concourse before settling in. Expect to pay regular terminal prices in the $10–20 range per meal; nothing in this space is for sale, and there’s no self-serve buffet line. Bring a water bottle since ANC has fill stations in the concourses, including near several B gates.
