ANA passengers at ANC usually end up in the Alaska Lounge
Instead of a standalone ANA Contract Lounge space in Anchorage, international ANA customers are typically handed access to the existing Alaska Lounge in the South Terminal, even though ANA operates out of the North Terminal for international flights. That means your “ANA Contract Lounge” at ANC is essentially shared space, not a branded ANA room with separate decor or services.
The North Terminal at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport handles international traffic, but ANA’s contract lounge access is structured through the Alaska Lounge, which physically sits airside in the South Terminal above Concourse C near gate C1. This adds a terminal split to your planning, because you’ll be checking in and departing from North, then potentially trekking to South for lounge time.
Access rules run through the ANA ticket: international premium cabins and eligible ANA Mileage Club or partner elites typically receive lounge entry to the Alaska Lounge as the ANA Contract Lounge option. If you’re on a codeshare or mixed-class itinerary, check the exact booking class on your ANA e-ticket; some discounted business and premium economy fares from ANC don’t trigger lounge access at all.
Timing matters at ANC: the Alaska Lounge in the South Terminal generally aligns hours with Alaska Airlines’ mainline wave, often opening in the early morning around 4:30–5:00 a.m. and closing in the late evening, while North Terminal international desks for ANA open only a few hours before departure. Build at least 60–75 minutes if you want to shuttle between North and South, clear any checks, and still be at the gate 30 minutes before boarding.
Because the ANA Contract Lounge is functionally that Alaska Lounge, expect Alaska’s standard spread rather than an ANA-specific menu: self-serve snacks, basic hot items during peak times, and alcoholic drinks included with entry, with premium spirits sometimes carrying a surcharge of a few dollars per pour. You won’t see ANA-branded food like typical Japanese curries or regional bento here at ANC.
Transfers between terminals are straightforward but not instant: North and South at ANC sit on the same airport property, yet you’ll still walk several hundred meters and account for security if you’re moving from landside to airside. If your ANA flight boards from a North Terminal gate, time the lounge visit so you leave the South Terminal Alaska Lounge at least 45 minutes before scheduled boarding.
Final tip: confirm at check-in in the North Terminal whether your boarding pass is coded for Alaska Lounge access and which door to use in the South Terminal, so you’re not backtracking across ANC with 20 minutes to go and a long walk between buildings.
