Airport Bar

There is no standalone “Airport Bar” anywhere in Albany Airport (ALH)

Despite the name, you won’t find a separate Airport Bar with taps and barstools at ALH. The airport’s own facilities page lists parking, rental cars, and taxis, but nothing about a bar beyond the small café space inside the terminal. If you land expecting a local bar pouring pints of WA craft beer, that setup simply doesn’t exist here.

ALH is a single-building regional airport, and food and drink live inside one compact café area near check-in and the gates. It sits post-security once you pass the modest screening point that serves all flights. Hours roughly track airport operations; think daytime only, aligned with the first and last scheduled services, not late-night. Don’t plan on drinking here after an 8:00 pm arrival.

The notional “signature” local craft beer is more a category than a specific tap list. You may see a couple of Western Australia labels in cans or bottles in the café fridge, but there’s no dedicated bar menu, no $10 happy hour, and no bartender mixing drinks. Expect basic airport pricing at about $$: a beer in the low teens in AUD and simple snacks or toasties in the same range.

FlyerTalk reports from passengers stuck for 5 hours at ALH describe the food as so limited that they left the airport to eat in Albany proper instead of touching the café. Another traveller stuck outside security said options were “so dire” they bailed entirely. That’s your signal: this is a functional pit stop, not a destination bar.

Tip: If your layover in Albany runs longer than 90 minutes, consider grabbing a proper meal in town before returning to ALH; treat the café and its token “bar” as backup, not your main plan.
