South Garage at ALB runs the same $18.00 per day as North Garage, but regulars treat it as the backup deck when the closer one is jammed. It’s a long-stay, structured option sitting just next to the Main Terminal, with covered spots on floors 1 through 4 in the GP2 structure. If North looks coned off or packed up the ramps, you swing left for South and usually find space.

This garage sits slightly farther from the Main Terminal doors than North Garage, so the walk can feel longer even though you’re still basically next door. Some first-timers say the pedestrian route from certain corners of South Garage into the terminal is less obvious than the straight shot from North. Count on a few extra minutes to follow the signs, especially on busy weekday mornings when the business banks hit around 6:00–8:00 a.m.

Pricing is simple: $18.00 per day flat for long-stay parking, with no separate "premium" tier between North and South. Both garages take E‑ZPass Plus and major credit cards at the exits, so bill‑it‑and‑go works the same in either structure. The trade‑off is value; locals eye the $7.00 per day Economy Lot for week‑long trips and reserve South Garage for shorter runs of two to four days.

What regulars do: they roll past the North Garage entrance first, then flip to South Garage as soon as they see upper levels filling or "Garage Full" boards. Locals also aim for lower floors in either deck to avoid spiraling up four levels and then dragging bags back down.
