Jewelry Corner

Near T1 duty free, this is the airport’s main jewelry stop

Jewelry Corner sits airside in T1, a few minutes’ walk from the central duty free area, and focuses on mid-range pieces you can actually wear daily. You’ll see gold and silver rings, chains, earrings, and small pendants, plus some stone-set items that read more dressy than luxury-showpiece. Prices sit above souvenir level but below big-name boutiques; think roughly what you’d pay in a mid-tier city mall rather than downtown designer.

The shop usually opens early enough to catch morning departures, around the 06:00 wave in T1, and stays open into the late-night bank of flights after 23:00, which matches ALA’s long-haul schedule. That timing makes it a realistic stop if you’re killing time after clearing security but before a 02:00 or 03:00 departure. Staff generally speak at least basic English and Russian, and you can pay in tenge by card or cash, with card being easier given airport pricing.

Selection leans classic: simple gold chains, modest stud earrings, and slim bracelets that suit office or business-trip wear more than fashion-week statements. You won’t find big European brands here, but you do see more polished pieces than in the nearby souvenir kiosks with felt hats and magnets. If you want something that looks like an actual gift, a plain gold pendant or small stone ring here will land better than another ALA keyring.

Expect airport markups versus city-center Almaty shops; you pay extra for having it inside T1 after security. On the plus side, you skip any return to landside or haggling in town, and you know everything clears security rules on metals and stones because it’s already past screening. If you care about choice, walk this way right after duty free instead of leaving it to a last-minute sprint at boarding.
