Pizzeria

Slice of Pizzeria before passport control in T1

Pizzeria sits landside in Terminal T1 at Almaty International Airport, before security and passport control, so it works for both arrivals and people seeing someone off. Expect basic counter-service pizza and snacks rather than a full restaurant, and factor in the extra 20–30 minutes you’ll still need later for security and exit checks.

Pizza is sold by the slice or as small whole pies, with simple toppings like cheese, pepperoni-style sausage, and vegetables; prices usually run in the mid-range for ALA, higher than city prices but normal for an airport. Portions are decent for a quick meal before a late-night departure, and you can usually get in and out in under 20 minutes if the queue is short.

Drinks lean standard: bottled water, soft drinks, and sometimes basic coffee from a machine rather than a barista setup, so don’t expect third-wave espresso here. If you want alcohol, you’ll likely be better off in another T1 spot that lists beer or wine on the board, as Pizzeria’s focus stays on fast food.

Seating is limited and mostly bar-style tables near the counter, with a direct view of the T1 landside hall and departure screens, which helps if you’re watching a check-in line or waiting on someone’s flight. Power outlets are scarce around this area of T1, so charge your phone near the main terminal columns or at another café first if you need to work while you eat.

Quick tip: if your flight leaves from T1 and you want a hot bite here, eat first, then head straight to security; don’t cut it closer than 45 minutes before boarding time, since queues in T1 can spike without warning.
