T1 Open · 8:00-20:00 Landside

8:00–20:00 daily, Point7 is T1’s catch-all souvenir shop

This is the kind of store you only notice when you need a last-minute gift: Point7 sits landside in Terminal 1 at Asahikawa Airport, before security, and sells general Hokkaido souvenirs with airport markup. It shows up on the official terminal map but doesn’t really show up in traveler reviews, which tells you a lot about expectations.

Hours run from 08:00 to 20:00, so it covers the first and last flights that usually move through AKJ. Because it’s before security, you can shop here even if you’re just picking someone up or killing time after returning a rental car. If you’re cutting it close for an 18:00 departure, shop first, then head through the single security checkpoint upstairs.

Stock is standard local-gift fare for Hokkaido: boxed sweets, regional snacks, and small trinkets. You’ll pay typical airport prices, so figure on around ¥800–¥1,500 for snack boxes and more for nicely packaged omiyage. For anything fragile or bulky, remember most domestic flights out of Asahikawa use smaller aircraft, so keep purchases compact enough for overhead bins.

Because there’s no real buzz about Point7 online, treat it as a backup, not your only stop. If you care about specific brands of Hokkaido cookies or limited-edition items, you’re still better off shopping in town or at bigger airport shops in Sapporo before heading to Asahikawa. Point7 fills gaps, it doesn’t anchor a shopping run.

Tip: buy your souvenirs at Point7 before checking bags; it’s landside, and once you head through security in T1, your options shrink fast and you won’t want to backtrack through the checkpoint just for a box of cookies.
