JAL-branded goods sit front and center at JAL PLAZA

This T1 shop runs 8:00–20:00 and sits pre-security, so think of JAL PLAZA as a Japan Airlines goods counter first and a general souvenir stop second. You’re not coming here for a meal; you’re coming for JAL logo items plus Hokkaido gifts to throw in your carry-on before heading upstairs to security.

Because it’s outside the checkpoints in T1, JAL PLAZA works for both arrivals and departures, and you don’t need a boarding pass to browse. Prices sit in the typical airport souvenir band: think a few hundred yen for snacks and small items and climbing into the low thousands of yen for apparel, bags, or aircraft models with the JAL crane on them.

The shelves mix standard Hokkaido souvenirs with airline tie-ins: expect regional sweets, boxed cookies, and local snacks alongside JAL stationery, keychains, or travel accessories. Since hours run to 20:00, you can land on an evening Asahikawa arrival and still grab omiyage or a JAL-branded trinket for someone back home.

Food-wise, this is a packaged-snack stop only, not a sit-down option, so plan to eat elsewhere in T1 if you want a proper meal. It pairs well with a quick restaurant visit in the terminal, then a pass through JAL PLAZA for boxed sweets or logo goods as your last five-minute errand before heading to security.

Tip: because it’s pre-security and in T1, JAL PLAZA is the safer bet for JAL collectibles than any small gate kiosk whose hours “depend on the flight” and might be dark during midday gaps.
