08:00 ramen on Fridays to Sundays is Baikohken’s party trick

Baikohken sits on the 2F of T1’s domestic building, pre‑security, and runs 11:00–20:00 most days, stretching to 08:00–20:00 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It’s one of only two ramen spots in Asahikawa Airport, so lines form fast once the Soraichi food court crowd shows up around lunchtime.

This is local Asahikawa‑style ramen at $$ prices, with bowls generally landing in the mid‑¥900 to ¥1,200 range. Expect a shoyu‑leaning broth, wavy noodles, and standard toppings rather than airport‑gimmick flavors. Portion sizes read “normal shop in town,” not oversized, which is where some of the “average value” comments on TripAdvisor come from.

The bigger problem people flag: timing. Reviews of the Soraichi food court mention it filling up right after the 11:00 opening and staying packed through the 12:00–14:00 window, with ramen stalls drawing some of the longest lines. If you hit Baikohken at 11:30, don’t be shocked by a 15–20 minute wait just to order and another 10 minutes for your bowl.

Regulars work around this by eating off‑peak. On weekdays, sliding in right at 11:00 or after 14:00 keeps the wait closer to 5 minutes. On Friday to Sunday, that 08:00–10:00 band is the sweet spot: you get a full bowl of local ramen before security even opens up much else, and you’re not fighting the midday rush in the rest of T1.

Watch out for the pre‑security catch: Baikohken is landside, on 2F, so build in at least 20–30 minutes for ordering, eating, and then reaching domestic security and your gate. If you’re tight on time, decide at check‑in—ramen first, then security—or skip it and eat airside instead.
