1,100 yen gets you into Lounge Taisetsu after security

This is a straight-up Japanese credit card lounge on the 2nd floor of T1, airside after domestic security at Asahikawa Airport. You can’t reach it on arrival because the entrance sits inside the departures zone. Think quiet room, Wi‑Fi, soft drinks, seats, then board.

Access rules: cards, companions, or a paid day pass

Entry runs 1,100 yen per person (tax included) as a day pass if you walk up. Gold card holders from eligible Japanese credit card companies and some airline elites get in under their card rules, and companions can come along for a fee on top. Staff check both your boarding pass and card at the desk.

Hours, timing, and when it actually helps

The lounge opens 8:00–20:00 daily, matching the domestic flight bank at AKJ. Morning flights around 9:00–10:00 and late‑afternoon departures see the most use, but crowding reports are rare. If you’ve got a 45–90 minute wait after clearing security in T1, it’s worth heading upstairs instead of sitting at the public gates.

Drinks, food, and what you should not expect

Complimentary options are limited to soft drinks only: expect self‑serve non‑alcoholic beverages and that’s basically it. Alcoholic drinks and small snacks are sold separately, and reviewers flag there is effectively no free food beyond those soft drinks. If you want a real meal, eat in the landside restaurants downstairs before you clear security.

Seating, Wi‑Fi, and how regulars actually use it

The room comes with standard lounge seating, Wi‑Fi, flight information screens, and some print media racks; there are no showers, nap rooms, or private work pods reported. Regulars treat it as a quiet Wi‑Fi office for an hour, send emails, charge devices, watch the FIDS, then walk down to boarding when their gate calls.

Watch out for the limitations and plan your stop

Biggest complaint: the paid alcohol and snacks surprise some first‑timers expecting free drinks and food; budget a few hundred extra yen if you plan to drink. Also remember it’s domestic‑only and post‑security in T1, so you can’t use it on arrival or from any landside meeting. Tip: clear security first, head straight up to Lounge Taisetsu, and use the Wi‑Fi to monitor your gate until about 15 minutes before boarding time.
