Accessible Parking

Next to the Main terminal, Accessible Parking keeps things simple

Akron Fulton International (AKC) runs so little commercial traffic that locals online barely mention parking, but Accessible Parking sits directly next to the Main terminal building. You park at ground level, step out, and you’re only a short roll or walk from the entrance doors, with no shuttle or skywalk in between.

The lot sits immediately adjacent to the single Main terminal at AKC, so you can see the terminal from most spots. That matters if you’re unloading a wheelchair, walker, or portable oxygen and don’t want to cross multiple lanes. Marked accessible spaces are closest to the building entrance, and the whole setup feels more like a small municipal facility than a big commercial airport garage.

Because AKC has minimal scheduled flights, peak-hour congestion that you’d see at airports like CLE just doesn’t show up here. The flip side: there’s less formal information on exact stall counts, payment machines, or time limits for Accessible Parking, so plan like you would at a small city lot. Pull in next to the Main terminal, look for the blue wheelchair signage, and use those spaces if you have a state-issued placard or plate.

Watch out for gaps in published details: the airport site and local guides don’t list rates, time restrictions, or overnight rules for Accessible Parking at AKC. If you’re leaving a car longer than 24 hours, call Akron Fulton’s administration office during regular weekday hours and confirm that accessible-permit vehicles can stay in the terminal-adjacent spaces without issue.

Practical tip: arrive 10–15 minutes earlier than you normally would, park in Accessible Parking right next to the Main terminal, and use that buffer to sort mobility aids or service-animal gear at the car instead of rushing at the curb.
