Banca de Revistas

T1 newsstand with last-minute reading and snacks

Right in Terminal T1, Banca de Revistas is the basic grab-and-go spot for magazines, newspapers, and small snacks at Aracaju – Santa Maria Airport (AJU). It sits airside after security, so you can duck in on the way to your gate without backtracking to the public hall.

This is a traditional Brazilian “banca” setup: print media first, extras second. You’ll usually find local and national newspapers, a handful of weekly magazines, and sometimes crossword or puzzle books. Stock isn’t huge, but if you want something in Portuguese for a 1–2 hour domestic hop, it gets the job done.

Expect standard airport pricing: drinks and packaged sweets run a bit higher than in town, but still fine for topping up. Think small bottled water, soft drinks, and candy rather than full meals, so eat in Aracaju city or at another AJU outlet if you need something more substantial before your flight.

Payment in reais is straightforward; many bancas like this take cards, but carry a 20–50 BRL note just in case the terminal is down. Staff usually move quickly, which helps during the morning and late-afternoon bank of departures from T1.

Practical tip: stop here right after security instead of waiting at the gate; selection tends to thin out before the late-night departures from Aracaju.
