€25 at Lounge 2 buys you a calmer corner of Alpe d’Huez’s tiny Main terminal.

Lounge 2 sits airside in the Main terminal at L'Alpe d'Huez - Henri Giraud Altiport (AHZ), so you head through security first and then follow the signs. Opening hours run 09:00 to 19:00 daily, which lines up with the bulk of winter flight banks and most helicopter movements. If you’re on an early charter before 09:00 or a late reposition after 19:00, you’ll be stuck in general seating.

Access is day-pass only here, with a flat price of €25 at the door. No airline status shortcuts, no Priority Pass, nothing bundled with premium tickets. That fee usually covers basic snacks, soft drinks and coffee, Wi‑Fi, and standard seating, which is still an upgrade over the hard plastic chairs in the small public lounge area about 50 meters away.

The airport itself is one of the highest in Europe at around 1,860 meters elevation, and space in the Main terminal is limited, so don’t expect huge square footage inside Lounge 2. Think a few dozen seats, a small self-serve counter, and power outlets along at least one wall. If you need to recharge a laptop or ski helmet camera before a 90‑minute flight, this is the place to plug in.

Figure your €25 mainly buys time, warmth, and a quieter seat during the 09:00–12:00 and 16:00–18:00 peaks, when charter flights to UK and northern Europe bunch together. Food options in the terminal are minimal and often close before 19:00, so using the lounge mid-afternoon for a light bite before a 17:30 departure makes sense. Just don’t expect a hot buffet or full bar like you’d see at a big-city hub.

Lounge 2 carries a solid rating of 4 out of 5 in aggregated reviews, which is decent for a tiny mountain airfield. That usually means clean toilets, reasonably fast Wi‑Fi, and staff who keep the snack area topped up during the busier weekend rotations. On weekdays outside school holidays, you may have most of the room to yourself after 15:00.

One practical tip: buy the day pass only if you have 60 minutes or more before boarding; with such a compact Main terminal and short walking times (usually under 3 minutes from Lounge 2 to any gate), shorter waits are easier in regular seating.
