Stintino Seasonal Line

Bus

Bus 60 min

In summer, this bus is the straight shot from AHO to Stintino

The Stintino Seasonal Line runs directly from Alghero-Fertilia Airport (AHO) T1 to the Stintino / La Pelosa area in about 60 minutes, aimed at beach traffic rather than commuters. It only operates in the summer season, so if you land here in June, July, August or early September, this is the main public-transport link that gets you from the terminal to the northwest tip without changing in Alghero town.

The line is a standard regional bus, not a shuttle, and it usually ties its departures to flight banks at T1 instead of running all day like the city bus into Alghero. Frequency is limited compared with urban routes, with gaps long enough that a missed bus can add an extra hour or more to your day. Treat the schedule like a train timetable: check exact times for your date before you book a tight arrival or departure.

Prices sit well below a taxi or car hire from AHO to Stintino, which can easily run to several tens of euros one way for a 45–50 km trip. If you are heading straight to La Pelosa for a few beach days and do not need a car every hour, this line cuts your transport cost dramatically versus a three-day rental plus fuel and parking near the beach.

The stop sits outside Terminal 1, so you exit arrivals, walk a few dozen metres to the signed regional bus area, and board there with your luggage. Typical coaches on Sardinian seasonal routes have underfloor luggage holds and standard 2–2 seating, so roller bags go below and hand baggage comes upstairs. Boarding with a printed timetable or a screenshot on your phone helps you match the route name quickly when several coaches pull up at once.

Seasonality is the catch: travel-forum regulars note that reaching Stintino by public transport outside the summer window is close to impossible, because this line simply does not run and the alternative is a combination of buses via Alghero or Porto Torres that often does not line up. If you arrive in April or October, you may be looking at a taxi or a rental car from the airport instead of this one-seat ride.

Practical tip: before you lock in a morning flight out of AHO, pull the current Stintino Seasonal Line schedule and make sure there is a return bus from Stintino to Terminal 1 that lands at the airport at least 2 hours before departure; if not, keep some budget aside for a backup taxi.
