Duty Free

T1

Right after security in T1, the Duty Free Shop sits on your path to the gates.

This is the only duty free option at Aguascalientes International Airport, and it’s in Terminal 1, post-security, on the short walk to the boarding area. You pass it after clearing the single T1 checkpoint, so it’s easy to stop in even with a 20–30 minute buffer before boarding.

Selection skews classic duty free: liquor, perfumes, cosmetics, chocolates, and a few tobacco products, all in a compact T1 footprint. Expect the standard big spirits labels in 750 ml and 1 L bottles, plus gift-boxed tequila that’s actually from Mexico instead of random tourist branding. Pricing lines up with typical Mexican duty free; you’ll usually save a bit on mid-range tequila and perfume compared with buying in-town at chain stores.

Stock turnover isn’t huge at AGU’s T1, so don’t bank on rare whiskies or every shade of a specific fragrance line. Think basics: tequila, rum, a couple of gins, global perfume brands, and stacked chocolate multipacks for around-airport gifts. Payment is the usual mix of pesos, major credit cards, and often dollars at a fair-but-not-great rate, so tap your card if possible.

Plan five extra minutes after security in T1 if you want to price-check tequila or grab last-second chocolates; lines are usually short, but the single cashier setup can slow down right before a departure bank.
