Main Terminal

Main Terminal hosts Ryukyu Air Commuter.

Main Terminal at Aguni: one runway, one airline, that’s it

Runway 01/19 at Aguni Airport is about 800 meters long, and the Main Terminal matches that scale: a single small building handling Ryukyu Air Commuter flights to and from Okinawa. Think island lifeline, not a place to linger. Flights are limited and mostly sync with connections at Naha, so you treat this terminal as a simple step in or out of the island, not a destination.

Every scheduled passenger flight here runs under the Ryukyu Air Commuter banner, and that simplicity shows at check-in: one counter, one queue, one destination at a time. The Main Terminal sits directly beside the apron, so walking distance from the entrance door to the aircraft is under two minutes. You arrive, check in, wait in the same basic seating area, and then walk out across the tarmac when boarding starts.

Opening hours at the Main Terminal flex around the day’s arrivals and departures, with doors typically open only a bit before the first Ryukyu Air Commuter flight and closing not long after the last one shuts down. There’s no published 24-hour access, and overnight options on-site are effectively zero. If your flight timing looks early or late compared with the usual Naha connection banks, assume the terminal may feel locked up outside that narrow window.

Food options inside the Main Terminal do not show up in any current listings, and there is no catalogued restaurant, café, or vending bank tied to a specific gate or corner of the building. That means no quick bento, no coffee counter with a posted price list, and no bar. Plan to eat in town on Aguni itself or at Naha Airport, where you can find everything from rice bowls to chain coffee at clearly marked prices before heading back to this minimalist setup.

Shopping at Aguni’s Main Terminal follows the same pattern: no documented convenience store, gift shop, or duty-free unit, and no rows of shelves with Okinawan snacks priced by the register. If you want drinks, snacks, or a magazine, buy them before reaching the airport or stock up at Naha. Treat the terminal as a basic point of access to the runway, not as a last-chance stop for souvenirs or cabin supplies.

Lounges are absent here, and there’s no reference to any airline-branded room, paid day lounge, or even a quiet corner with signage. Seating in the Main Terminal is simple, with basic chairs facing the apron and the single short runway. If you rely on lounge-style amenities like power outlets at every seat or showers, plan to use them at Naha’s terminals before taking the Ryukyu Air Commuter hop across to Aguni.

Ground transport options at Aguni start literally outside the front door of the Main Terminal, with the airport positioned on the eastern side of the island and only a short drive from local guesthouses. There’s no multi-level car park, no numbered bus bays, and no rental car desks lined up under backlit logos. Most visitors arrange pickup with their accommodation in advance or use the modest local road network, so confirm your ride before your flight departs Naha.

The most practical move here: treat check-in at the Main Terminal as strictly functional and arrive about 45–60 minutes before your Ryukyu Air Commuter departure, with boarding pass details, snacks, water, and any essentials already sorted in Naha or in town, because once you reach this building there’s nothing to do except sit, watch the single runway, and wait for your prop to park on the apron.
