Next to the T terminal doors, Accessible Parking is the closest car option at Ålesund Airport.
This area sits directly beside the terminal building at AES, so you roll your bags a few metres and you’re at check-in in T. It’s marked and signposted as Accessible Parking, and it’s the shortest walk from any official car park to the main entrance.
Accessible Parking sits on the same level as the terminal doors, so you avoid ramps and lifts before you reach security in T. If you’re dropping someone with limited mobility, this is the spot that keeps time outside in Ålesund weather to a minimum.
This is a standard paid airport car park, not a drop-off lane, so plan for normal AES parking rates and time limits. Because it’s right next to the terminal, spaces can go fast at peak morning departures around 06:00–09:00, especially on busy SAS and Widerøe waves.
The bays here are laid out with extra space around them compared with some of the general parking further from T. That extra width helps with wheelchairs, strollers, or just getting in and out of the car without door dings before a tight connection to your flight.
There’s no separate security or shuttle involved: you park, cross a short marked route, and you’re inside Ålesund Airport T in a couple of minutes. That makes this the most realistic option if you’re cutting it close for boarding or meeting an arriving passenger at a fixed time.
Practical tip: aim to arrive 15–20 minutes earlier than planned during the first morning bank of flights, so you still have a shot at an Accessible Parking space right next to the T terminal doors.
