Norwegian no longer runs a lounge at Ålesund (AES)

Norwegian pulled back its own lounge network years ago, and there is no Norwegian Lounge in Terminal T at Ålesund Airport, despite older references online that still list one. If you arrive expecting a branded Norwegian space with dedicated seating and snacks, you will end up in the regular terminal area instead.

Official listings that mention a “Norwegian Lounge” open from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM at Ålesund are out of date. Norwegian regulars on Reddit say that outside Oslo Gardermoen and a couple of major stations, they now fly out of regional airports like Ålesund without any airline-branded lounge at all and just wait at standard gate seating.

Access rules you might see quoted for this non-existent lounge—Norwegian Business Class, Norwegian Reward Gold, or Priority Pass—do not translate into an actual door you can walk through at AES T. Your boarding pass may hint at lounge eligibility, but at this airport there is currently nothing to access under the Norwegian name.

What regulars do instead

Frequent Norwegian flyers out of smaller Norwegian airports mention on Reddit that they lean on Priority Pass only where a contract lounge exists, and that at places like Ålesund AES they just grab a coffee in the terminal and sit near their gate. That is the realistic expectation to set for any early departure, including the first morning flights around 06:00.

Watch out for outdated lounge info

Airport and third-party websites sometimes recycle old Norwegian lounge data and still list AES Terminal T with a named “Norwegian Lounge” and those 5:30 AM–9:30 PM operating hours. Do not plan tight meal timing or work calls around that information, and do not buy or renew Priority Pass specifically for Ålesund access.

Practical tip

Build your buffer around security and boarding at Ålesund T, not around lounge time. Arrive about 60–75 minutes before a Norwegian departure, clear security, grab food or coffee in the public concessions, and head straight to the gate; treat any lounge reference on your booking as a system relic, not a real perk at AES.
