North Parking Lot

Surface parking

Daily parking at the North Parking Lot usually runs cheaper than short-stay options right by the terminal.

The North Parking Lot at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) is a surface lot on the landside perimeter of the airport, used for day and multi-day stays rather than quick drop-offs. You park in open air, standard-width spaces, with no height restriction since there’s no structure overhead. This is airport-operated parking, not a private off-site lot, so you pay in Argentine pesos at official airport rates.

Walking time to the terminal from the North Parking Lot is typically around 5–10 minutes, depending on which end of the lot you use and which check-in area you’re headed for. There’s no jet bridge or shuttle from this lot; you’re on foot the whole way, crossing marked pedestrian paths that connect directly toward the main terminal building. If you’re hauling two or more large suitcases, pad your walk time by another 5 minutes in summer heat or rain.

Pricing at airport surface lots in Buenos Aires often changes with inflation, but the North Parking Lot generally undercuts the covered garages closer to check-in by a noticeable margin on 24-hour and multi-day tickets. Expect to pay a per-hour rate for the first few hours, then a capped daily maximum after around 8–10 hours, with day three and beyond usually the best value per hour. Bring a payment card that works consistently in Argentina, since some travelers report cash-handling limits at airport facilities.

The lot stays open 24/7, matching Aeroparque’s flight schedule, which includes early-morning regional departures before 06:00 and late-night arrivals after 23:00. Lighting poles line the driving lanes and rows, so you can still see row numbers and signs in the dark. Mark your row and nearest pole number in your phone when you park; coming back at 01:30 after a delay, that detail saves a lot of wandering with bags.

There’s no dedicated security checkpoint or guard post per row here, but airport police patrol the broader Aeroparque grounds throughout the day and night. As with any open surface lot in a major city, don’t leave laptops, cameras, or visible bags on the seats; lock them in the trunk before you pull into your final space so you’re not shuffling valuables in public. Most travelers using the lot for 2–4 days have no issues beyond dust on the car, especially after windy periods along the Río de la Plata.

Tip: in peak Argentine holiday periods (January, long weekends), aim to arrive 45–60 minutes earlier than usual, as surface lots like the North Parking Lot can fill up and force a second lap before you find a space.
