Priority Pass here just gets you into the AMAE Lounge
At Aeroparque Jorge Newbery’s main terminal, Priority Pass access routes you to the same AMAE Lounge used by Amex and Mastercard cardholders, near Gate 1 on the first floor airside. There is no separate “Priority Pass Area” despite what some apps list, so plan around one shared space rather than hunting for a second lounge.
The AMAE Lounge runs roughly lounge-standard hours, open 06:30–22:00 daily, and Priority Pass is only valid for domestic or in-transit domestic flights departing AEP. Entry is airside after passport control in the main terminal, so you need a same-day boarding pass and must already be through security before you can even see the check-in desk by Gate 1.
Priority Pass follows the same 3-hour stay limit that Amex and Mastercard apply at AMAE, so you cannot stretch a layover into a half-day stay or move to any other PP-branded zone in this airport. Staff do check departure times against the system, and they time your entry against your flight, so don’t expect to talk your way into a 5‑hour sit.
Capacity is the real pain point: forum reports describe AMAE as “pretty busy,” and PP’s own promotion drove extra foot traffic to this 1st-floor lounge near Gate 1. During evening bank hours and Monday morning rush, PP members frequently hit a “lounge full” sign and get turned away at the desk, even though the 06:30 opening is usually quieter.
Food and drink sit at the standard domestic-lounge level in Buenos Aires, with cold snacks and basic self-serve options rather than hot restaurant-style meals, and prices inside trend to airport inflation if you pay out of pocket beyond the complimentary spread. Wi‑Fi is free, and power outlets are scattered but not at every seat, so grabbing one of the wall-side chairs early in a 3‑hour window matters.
Regulars with Priority Pass time their arrival to hit AMAE about 2.5–3 hours before departure, especially for evening flights out of AEP’s main terminal, so they still hit the maximum allowed stay while dodging some of the midday peaks. Many also keep a backup plan in the public concourse downstairs, grabbing a quick coffee at a landside café if the lounge near Gate 1 is at capacity.
Practical tip: clear security at least 60 minutes before boarding, walk straight to Gate 1 on the first floor, and check AMAE capacity first so you still have time to bail out and eat in the main terminal if the Priority Pass line is closed off.
